Kelly Rowland spoke at SXSW over the weekend.

Kelly Rowland sets the record straight.

Her lifelong friend, Beyoncé, is not feuding with Rihanna. And Rowland knew a bit of what was coming at the Super Bowl show.

“They are two women who support each other,” Rowland said of the two pop stars. “The rest of the world starts the rivalry. They are very secure women.”

Rowland said she loved the halftime show. “I just knew she was working on it and she was so excited,” Rowland said. “She was giving me tidbits.”

Rowland wanted to watch it like a fan and said she had a great time doing so. As far as the outcry over channeling the Black Panthers, Rowland said, “She had an amazing performance. What is so great about Beyoncé is here she is a voice for women and she still carries that torch and we do it with great pride. It is possible to get information about our rights and stand up for ourselves and we can’t wait for someone to do that for us.”

On a day when she was putting on a concert at the Lower East Side Boys and Girls Club, Rowland, 35, was singing everyone’s praises.

She’s a big fan of the clubs and of its sponsor, Claritin, because “allergies hit me hard.”

Rowland says her lifelong friend Beyonce is not in fact feuding with Rihanna.

Rowland is in the midst of working on her upcoming show, “Chasing Destiny” which premieres on BET April 5. She is very clear that it is “not a reality show but a docu-series” and the 10 episodes reveal how she picks an all-female singing group.

“I am looking for girls who are not afraid of work,” Rowland said. “One thing I love and respect about Destiny’s Child is when we were 11 and 12, we were all about the work and putting the time in and getting ourselves out there. We were not afraid of rehearsal and we have a great work ethic.”

She will serve as a mentor to the group she selects.

When Rowland, Michelle Williams and Beyoncé were growing up in the business, there was En Vogue, TLC and SWV at the same time. Today there are so few all-female groups and Rowland wants to help right that.

She remains close with her former bandmates.

“I always see the ladies,” Rowland said. “We always hang out. Michelle was just at my house last week. Myself and B were hanging out — even though it is not in front of everyone at the Super Bowl. We were at her house.”
