An Italian bakery screwed up a little girl birthday wish for a “My Little Pony” cake.

They didn’t pony up!

An embarrassing mix-up at an Italian bakery saw a little girl who wanted a “My Little Pony” cake being given a “Little Tony” sweet treat instead.

Evelina, 9, was left seriously disappointed after taking delivery of the birthday pastry from the shop in Gangi, Sicily, earlier this month, The Telegraph reported.

She’d wanted an image of the popular children’s cartoon animal to adorn the dessert.

But she ended up receiving a cake featuring the image of a bouffant-haired former singer called “Little Tony” Ciacci in a white jacket.

The Elvis-style crooner was popular in the 1950s and ’60s. He died aged 72 in May 2013.

Italy’s consumer association Codacons said that the girl’s family would be within its rights to launch legal action against the bakery.

It’s not yet known whether they are prepared to go down the legal route, however.
