As viewers watched David Letterman say goodbye to television Wednesday night, the comedian and his famous friends were out celebrating.

Letterman held his wrap party at the Museum of Modern Art after finishing the afternoon taping of the last “Late Night” episode at the Ed Sullivan Theater.

The famously low-key comic legend sneaked out of the theater through the nearby Angelo’s Pizza, wearing a white jacket, and simply walked to MoMa several blocks away, according to CBS New York. Letterman reportedly used a fake limousine as a decoy for his humble exit.

Surprisingly little info about the star-studded party emerged on social media, despite dozens of celebs, some of whom likely stopped by, tweeting tributes to Letterman through Wednesday night.

Photos from the party showed some celebrities who had appeared on the final show: Steve Martin, Tina Fey and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who ended the episode with a live performance of “Everlong” as a montage of guestsshowed on screen.

A reporter from The Wrap tweeted he was told Letterman “only stayed for a bit.”
