Hide your Happy Meal — the Hamburglar is back! And he’s a hipster!

McDonald’s iconic beef bandit returned to network television Wednesday for the first time since 2002 in the form of ads for the fast food chain’s new Sirloin Third Pound Burger.

Obviously Officer Big Mac couldn’t keep this menace to society beyond bars in McDonaldland.

But who is this new sexy beast? The 30-second video doesn’t make it clear: It opens in a suburban backyard with a cool dad whipping up extra thick burgers for his wife and son.

But he’s distracted from his roasting revery by a radio ad announcing McDonald’s new limited-time Sirloin Burgers, prompting him to dramatically drop his spatula as the screen dissolves into telltale black-and-white bars.

“These burgers are bringing everybody out. Even him,” a caption states.

McDonald’s original Hamburglar was a cartoonish cad — yet somehow non-threatening, despite his criminal acts against society.

So the Hamburglar is ready for his next nefarious mission — and just in time, given how the once chubby-cheeked red headed criminal has slimmed down over the past 13 years. This is the first Hamburglar who actually looks in vertical stripes.

“We felt it was time to debut a new look for the Hamburglar after he’s been out of the public eye all these years,” McDonald’s spokesperson Joel Yashinsky told Mashable.

“He’s had some time to grow up a bit and has been busy raising a family in the suburbs and his look has evolved over time.”

The new Hamburglar also appears in photos wearing a stylish black trenchcoat, red leather high tops and a subtle hamburger-covered tie.
