The long wait is finally over.

The Mets are returning to the postseason for the first time since 2006. Twitter was in its infancy then but there was plenty of celebratory tweets after the 10-2 win over the Reds.

Mike Piazza: “Congrats @Mets! Drink it up boys. You deserve it. #LetsGoMets #onfire #playoffbound.”

Zack Wheeler:”Beyond excited for all of my boys right now. Busted it all year for this. Wish I could be there but next year for sure. Keep it going #LGM”

Cincinnati Reds:”Congratulations Mets fans! Now please go celebrate by spending all your money in our fine city.”

Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg: “Congratulations @Mets on bringing the #NLEast Crown back to Queens. Here’s to another October run – and hopefully another Subway Series.”

@JBuono611: “Can we get @realDonaldTrump to congratulate the #Mets? #MakeTheMetsGreatAgain”

Governor Andrew Cuomo: “Let’s go @Mets! #NLEastChamps #playoffbound.”
