Tiger Woods is off to the surgeon — again.

However it’s not Woods who’s going under the knife this time, but his dog, a Border Collie named Taz.

Woods shared a photo of the black-and-white pooch Monday morning on Twitter, writing “A rough year is about to get better. Taking my boy of 9 years to get double ACL reconstruction on both hind legs.”

There’s no way to know if Woods was referring to himself, the dog or both when he referenced a “rough year,” but there’s no doubting that 2015 hasn’t been kind to Woods.

Woods failed to make the cut at the U.S. Open this weekend, shooting 16-over at Chambers Bay. It was his second missed cut of the season — he didn’t make the cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and then had to withdraw from the Farmers Insurance Open a week later. The only other time Woods failed to make the cut at a U.S. Open came at Winged Foot in 2006, and that was following the death of his father, Earl.

The former World No. 1 has slipped to No. 205 in the Official World Golf Rankings. His best finish in 2015 is coming in 17th at the Masters.

Woods himself is no stranger to the operating table, of course. He had surgery for a pinched nerve in his back in April of 2014 and missed more than three months of Tour play. He hasn’t been the same player since.

Woods also knows what Taz is in for — he had ACL surgery on his left knee in June of 2008 and didn’t return to the course until February of 2009.
