U2 returned to Paris to perform the two shows that were rescheduled following the horrific terrorist attacks in November.

U2 has returned to Paris to make up the two concerts they rescheduled after November’s horrific terrorist attacks — but the special guest many were hoping for won’t be joining them Sunday.

The Eagles of Rock Metal — the band performing at Paris’ Bataclan venue where terrorists tragically killed 89 people on Nov. 13 — will not make a guest appearance during U2’s first show back in the City of Light, as many had expected.

“Some people have been saying that Eagles of Death Metal will appear on stage with U2 tonight,” U2 wrote on its website Sunday. “This is not the case. We have another surprise guest planned for tonight’s show.”

The band did not, however, address the possibility of the Eagles of Death Metal joining them at Monday’s show.

Billboard reported last week that the Eagles of Death Metal planned to join the Irish rock band onstage for the final song of one of their two Paris shows.

U2’s performances were originally scheduled for Nov. 14 and 15, but the band canceled its shows following the Isis-affiliated attacks that killed 130 people and injured hundreds of others.

But less than two weeks later, U2 rescheduled the trip, promising to “put on (their) best for Paris.”

“So much that was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13th is irreplaceable,” U2 Bono said Monday, U2’s lead singer Bono said.

“For one night, the killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind — but they couldn’t steal the spirit of that city. It’s the spirit our band knows well and will try to serve when we return for the postponed show.”
