Prince has pulled his music from all streaming services except Tidal.

It’s a sign o’ the times for Prince.

The music icon pulled his music from all streaming music services — except for Jay Z’s Tidal, Mashable first reported.

“Prince’s publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog,” a Spotify spokesperson told the news site on Wednesday.

“We have cooperated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible.”

Then again the 57-year-old pop superstar hasn’t exactly embraced the shifting technological means in which fans consume music. Much of his catalogue had never made it online.

Besides Prince, Tidal has attracted a who’s who of big name artists, including Rihanna.

In 2010, Prince declared to London’s Daily Mirror that, “the internet’s completely over.

“I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else,” the “Little Red Corvette” singer told the British newspaper. “They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it.”

Streaming has been a bane for artists since the technology that has come to dominate the way music is consumed leads to far less money in their pockets than CD sales did.

Jay-Z’s fledgling Tidal service may not be a rampant success, but it’s attracted a who’s who of artists including Madonna, Rihanna and Beyonce.
